Some time back the CBS “Early Show” ran a story in which they discussed the top 10 dumbest and smartest dog breeds. The Border Collie was rated as the smartest and the poor old Afghan Hound as the dumbest.

I’m not sure how scientific these results were (probably not very), but just for fun here’s the top tens:

1 – The Border Collie

2 – The Poodle

3 – The German Shepherd

4 – The Golden Retriever

5 – The Doberman Pinscher

6 – The Shetland Sheepdog

7 – The Labrador Retriever

8 – The Papillon

9 – The Rottweiler

10 – The Australian Cattle Dog.
